I hate ff4 and want to go back too, but I'm afraid I'll lose all my bookmarks, like I did when I updated to ff4. Also, my homepage doesn't open, even tho I have it set correctly, and the ff4 upgrade page keeps opening every time I open the program. So........I can't answer your question (sorry) but maybe someone will be able to help us here. *fingers crossed*

I have a Macbook (Mac OsX Version 10.4.11) and got a prompt to update to Firefox 4. I did, copied it into my Applications (over the old version), was told the program wasn't compatible with my system (like Chrome), and have re-downloaded the latest Firefox 3--but is all my data/are all my plug ins and such permanently lost? Because that would suck, and I'd be suspicious about downloading stuff from firefox in future.

EDIT: Oh thank god, preferences and such are back/were saved. Phew.

I've just Googled early versions of Firefox and download Version 3 okay with no loss of bookmarks. Only thing is, my homepage button is now right over on the right-hand side! Anybody know how I can get it back to the left of my address bar please?
