Can't sync firefox custom preferences

I know there's [[an article|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sync-custom-preferences#w_sync-custom-preferences]] on how to sync custom preferences. I wanted to sync my toolbar customizations and some other preferences like disabling disk caching. And I don't even have other firefox instances, instead I just want to sync only on one device, so that I can continue the same setup when I signin later on the same device.

I've tried to add services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.uiCustomization.state, "services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.cache.disk.enable" and set it to true. But it doesn't work. What am I missing? No one seems to address this. May I am missing something.

WARNING from the moderator team: Changing Firefox pref from the about:config page can sometimes break Firefox or cause strange behavior. You should only do this if you know what you're doing. Please read Firefox Advanced Customization and Configuration Options to learn more.

Thank you for the warning. I know what I'm doing & I'm just experimenting on just one config whether it works or not. And it just won't sync no matter what I do. I'm surely missing something. I've even tried enabling dangerous_arbitary but that failed to sync too.

Atleast tell me where those custom prefs file inside profiles directory... I can't backup my whole profile caz it's too big. Edit: Okay, I've found that backing up & restoring <profile-dir>/prefs.js kinda brings back my older setup. I don't care if it's safe or not. This is the only working way for me right now.

Try services.sync.prefs.browser.uiCustomization.state instead.

Actually that extra sync was a typo. I had it correct, I just couldn't able to correct this post, as there wasn't an edit button...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I've tried applying the config again, synced again & tested on a new profile. It still didn't work.

Other forum moderators suggest one thing. And the moderator on this thread suggest another thing. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1185771 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sync-custom-preferences https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1246892 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1271303

Yes. I've read & tried all the above pages. I've tried all the below combinations services.sync.prefs.sync services.sync.prefs services.sync

None of them work. I've tried all the methods creating new profiles, syncing them, deleting them, creating again. I've sat on them for like hours. How does this exactly work ? I'm stoked btw.
