All the background colour contrast has now disappeared on my Browser pages making it difficult to read some pages. How can this be fixed?
I have a mac laptop.
Tks for your help Evelyn

Hello! You could try looking under Firefox's "Preferences" settings and then clicking "Language and Appearance" and see if anything there can help fix it. :) Please let me know if it works out.
Thanks, but I don't see anything there that affects the problem. E
Can you show me a screenshot of your browser page so I can see what it looks like? Don't worry if you can't. In the meantime, I'll keep doing some research for you, if you'd like. :)
Hi - I tried to take a screen shot and send it to you with the Add Images box below, but in each case, it told me that file was too large. I tried converting the file to PDF and reducing the file size, but that didn't work. If you give me an alternate way to send you the screen image, I am happy to do this.
My home screen is the University of Alberta Alumni Benefits page, which should have green and gold bars of colour, along with images, but all I see is black and white text and some text in blue.
The same holds true for my Gmail page, which should have clearly defined borders among the different categories of material (the menu on the left, the list of emails in the Inbox, etc.) and, most upsetting is that the lines around a message I am composing are gone, so the text in the compose box is really difficult to see as different from the Inbox text behind it.
This lack of colour and definition among the various components of the pages I use even occurs with my banking page.
So, the problem is clearly with Firefox.
I should also mention that this problem exists now with both my laptops.
Thanks for your help, EE
Hi again. Thank you for the information, that's helpful to know! If you want, you can try sending the screenshot to my gmail--I'll see if I can private message the address to you.
Now that I think about it, it sounds like your firefox may be in high contrast mode. But if you're able to send the screenshot, we'll take a look and see first if that's what's going on. If it is in high contrast mode, you should be able to disable it. :)
Thanks, Losa. I will wait to see if the private message comes through.

Could be a problem with High Contrast Mode on Mac.
See "New" in the release notes.
Firefox now automatically enables High Contrast Mode when "Increase Contrast" is checked on MacOS.
Thank you, Cor-el I don't see the "Increase Contrast" setting anywhere in preferences. Where should I look?
EE
To both Cor-el and Losa. When I go into Preferences in Firefox > Language and Appearance > Colours > Override the colours specified by the page with your selections above, the following choice is selected: "only with high contrast themes" - is this what you are talking about?
If I change this to "Never" I seem to get my screen settings back. Is this what I should be doing?
As I mentioned earlier, Preferences on my Mac do not show "Increase Contrast" as a setting.
Finally, Losa, I have not received a private message from you; if that can be done, I will certainly send you a screen shot.
So, maybe this solves the issue. If so, then I am very grateful.
Many thanks, EE
To reduce the size of your screenshot, you can reduce the zoom of the page and/or select only part of the page for printing.
Thanks TerrN21 - I will remember that for next time. EE
