Create Account
HI Everyone, having a massive headache. Hubby and I used to share a pc but now we have one each I thought it would be a good idea to separate our Firefox. Its been a few weeks so we have already signed in to Firefox on both pc's on the current account we share.
Today I changed the primary email address to mine and removed the secondary email (his) as this one is to be used for the new Firefox account. All our bookmarks etc are now separated but I want to create a account on hubby's pc so everything can be saved but I can not find the create account button it just keeps taking back to sign in.
I have tried refreshing Firefox and also removed and reinstalled it but no joy it just keeps trying to get me to sign in.
Is the issue that Hubby's email used to be the primary email and if so how can I fix this but also if that's the case even creating a new email address won't fix it as I can't get to the create page.
Any help really appreciated

You can log into the FF account and close it down completely, ie eliminated. Then you can recreate 2 new FF accounts using those emails.
I signed my husbands pc out and then signed out completely on my pc as well but it made no difference. The create button just doesn't come up even if I search for it on google the link comes up but once clicked it just goes to sign in. I can not delete my account I have over 5 years worth of stuff saved and can not risk losing it.
Actually, you have to be signed in, in order to close the account as you would close a bank account or credit card.
So go here and retry the methodology:
I know how to delete an account I'm saying I'm not doing it and losing all of my saved stuff. There must be another way. If there not then hubby is jumping ship and signing up to a new browser.
I see.
But all your saved stuff is currently on your machines that are in your possession at this time.
However, if you want to make a copy of what is stored up on the account before deleting it, then you can make a new blank virgin empty profile on the machine. Then sync that new profile and download a copy of all your saved stuff. You should find that the current profile and the newly updated one are identacle.
Afterwards, you can proceed with your objective of separating the 2 machines by giving each a unique FF account.
Try to delete the signedInUser.json file in the Firefox profile folder and delete the Weave folder (Sync was formerly named Weave) with Firefox closed.
You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Hi cor-el, Gave it ago but it didn't work. Annoyingly it deleted all the bookmarks I set up on my husbands pc so I'm going to quit while I'm ahead as if mine get deleted it would be a disaster.
It completely reset his pc firefox back to default but when I tried to create an account all it would do was take me back to sign in? and weirdly when I signed back in on my pc it signed back in with the old primary email and not the new one I set up today where as earlier when I tested it the old email wouldn't sign me in.
Luckily I also set him up on edge so at least his bookmarks are not lost. He seams happy on edge but from reading other posts on google this seams to be a common problem unsolved.
