Does the Facebook Contain Extension work outside the Facebook Container that is in the Multi-Container Extension?

more options

Seriously, Firefox, I don't think you could have made this more confusing if you tried. Why did you name the Facebook Container extension the same as the Multi-Container Facebook Container extension?

Basic questions 1. When you're in the Multi-Container Facebook Container are you supposed to open Facebook within that container to keep it contained there? Or are you supposed to open websites within Multi-Container Facebook Container that you want to protect from Facebook?

2. Does the Facebook Container extension work within all of the Multi-Container containers?

As far as I know, Mozilla has two extensions:

Multi-Account Containers is the original. It's a comprehensive general purpose tool for creating containers to suit your browsing needs -- you choose which sites open in which container. See: Multi-Account Containers.

Facebook Container is a dedicated container extension that is pre-configured with a specific list of sites to open only in that container. See: Facebook Container - Prevent Facebook from tracking you on other websites.

There's an article that also attempts to clarify the difference: How is Facebook Container different from Multi-account Containers?

I don't use either of these extensions myself, but apparently there is a "fence" icon in the Multi-Account Containers extension as of this Summer. If there isn't a set of FB sites already associated with that icon, then I suggest ignoring it unless you prefer to manager your own list of FB sites within the one extension.
