I have a Windows 7 desktop with Firefox 80, and an Android Motorola with Firefox for Android 79. Sync is set to sync bookmarks and logins. I'm new to mobile devices and very new to touchscreens and not at all happy with the sudden upgrade to Firefox 79 for Android and it's very unfriendly interface - especially bookmarks.

The desktop and Android are supposed to sync on the same Firefox account, and I have followed all the instructions and they both show as being synced and recognised. But the tidying up I have done on my desktop bookmarks is NOT being replicated on the Android which still shows a lot of folders which have been deleted on the desktop. I signed the Android out and back in again. No difference. I'm thinking of deleting all the bookmarks on the Android and synching again - but I'm scared that once I've done that, syncing will suddenly work and delete all the bookmarks on my desktop too! How do I deal with this? I want to edit my bookmarks on the desktop because Firefox for Android bookmarks interface is a nightmare, it shows all the folders expanded in a great long list - but none of the work syncs across from the desktop to the Android device even though my firefox account says both devices are on line and both are saying they have just synced. I've read endless help articles - which seem to be pre-firefox for android and don't help at all. On both devices, I use CCleaner regularly to clean cache/junk etc. Thanks for your help.

On the bookmark menu (Firefox Android) the top is desktop bookmark. That's where all your tidy desktop bookmark listed. Bookmarks on desktop and mobile are separate list. If you want to manage Firefox Android bookmarks on the Firefox Desktop, go to the bookmark menu and select mobile bookmark.

Thanks for your reply. I understand what u say but the folder u refer to is NOT reflecting the tidying up done in desktop. Firefox accounts shows that both devices are connected and are synced in last few moments. But desktop folders deleted several days ago are still present when I open the desktop folders in the Firefox 79 for android. Sync isn't syncing.
