thunderbird will not allow a return to older thunderbird version
I was prompted to upgrade (to ver 78) by a new Security program. I now want to go back to my earlier ver 68 Thunderbird program. I did so and it created a new profile and all 50+ subfolders are not there. I reinstalled older version. It would not accept older profile as said new version had changed profile.
I do not probably have old profile ini. I just have new profile.ini. I tried to use profile manager to use each of three defaults. None created old mail folder structure.
I do have huge old folder with all my emails, subfolders and many other files called '7xbt88d9h.default '
Is there a way to import this into my old (ver 68) thunderbird that I want to go back to?
Robert
me that older profile manager to use what I thought is older profile but was warned that

Press the Windows key+R and enter the path to the TB68 .exe with these arguments:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe -p --allow-downgrade
In this example, the 32-bit TB 68 was installed in 'Mozilla Thunderbird'. The 64-bit version is installed in C:\Program Files. The -p switch starts the Profile Manager, where you can select the profile that was previously run in the TB78 version, and --allow-downgrade should allow access by TB 68 to that profile previously run with TB78.
And get rid of your "Security" software which automatically installs software on your machine.
