I want to download my emails and keep them on my computer and take them off my server. No sync. how do I do that. I am set up as IMAP @ [email protected]

Is there a way to download my messages from my sever and leave them on my computer but wipe them off my server. To go back and delete from my sever deletes them from my computer not to mention deleting off my server is long and tedious. Do I need to go back to POP3 settings? or is there a setting with IMAP that will not syc the two. Help

Move them to the Local Folders account in Thunderbird.
