I installed Linux yesterday (Fedora 24). I did the the "dnf update" right after and all fine. Today, a video on youtube, can't be played, getting an error about HTML5. Icheck Firefox's plugins and there is the Cisco OpenH264 codec. I try to activate it, it shows a message that will activate shortly, but it never does. Is it bugged or i have to fix something in my Linux system first?

The Cisco H264 plugin is used for Web RTC - the Hello service in Firefox uses that plugin.

Your HTM5 problem lies elsewhere.

It may help us to help you solve this is you provide a screenshot of this page. https://www.youtube.com/html5

Hi again, this is exactly the screen i see https://www.youtube.com/html5, as you posted above.

I have to notice that i haven't install any software yet on my Linux beyond "dnf" for security reasons yet (like Adobe Flash, Java etc).

I plan to install only VLC.

Would that help Firefox to play various video formats?

I have checked other questions here, like messing with about:config, but it doesn't help.

That page will show what each particular person's browser supports. What does this browser support? That's what I asked for a screenshot from you taken from your Firefox installation.

Ignore the outdated table on top of http://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html and scroll down to H.264/MP4 video example.

If H.264/MP4 HTML5 videos are not working or properly then chances are you do not have the needed ffmpeg and Gstreamer packages installed for your Linux distro. Though Gstreamer may not be need in future versions of Firefox and just ffmpeg.

Well this is a screenshot of my Firefox showing what supports from Youtube:

And here my installed codecs:

As you see there is a gstreamer H264 not installed... But what has to do Cisco H264 with a rpm file?
