By clicking on the "MY Bookmarks"icon, and then all bookmarks I opened a window called Library. This was totally counter-intuitive because I wanted to see my bookmark folders, but it did show some but not all of my folders. Goodness only knows how I made them, probably in a previous version. I was able to add a folder here by right clicking; no helpful Icon. My question is twofold is there and easier, more logical way to add a folder and more importantly how do I save bookmarks to this folder. Please don't say save the bookmark into unsorted bookmarks and then do the above and then drag the bookmark into the new folder, as there is an easier way to save bookmarks than this ; use Chrome.

Note that it is not clicking the star twice as that would open and close the dialog, but it is clicking the highlighted star that has a "Edit this bookmark" tooltip another time to open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and edit the properties.

  • Clicking the star on the Navigation toolbar will bookmark the page in the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder and the star turns blue to show that
  • Bookmarks > "Bookmark This Page" (Ctrl+D) will bookmark the page in the Bookmarks Menu folder (you need to confirm that)
  • "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu in the browsing area or via the Bookmarks menu in the Firefox menu button drop down or menu bar (Alt+B)
  • If the URL in the current tab is bookmarked and the star is highlighted blue then click the highlighted star or use "Bookmark This Page/Edit This Bookmark" (Ctrl+D) to edit the properties of the bookmark like name and location and move the bookmark to another folder or remove the bookmark

Hi, if you click on the star once, the bookmark will go into Unsorted Bookmarks. However if you wish the bookmark to go to a different destination, you should click on the star twice, then in the dialog box, use the upper, downward pointing arrow on the far right, to select a destination > Done. There is also the option to create a new folder in the same box.

The following may also be of use - Bookmarks in Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
