When I upgraded to 38.1 a new asterisk started appearing by the folder new message count in my inbox. I tried everything I could to get rid of the damn thing with no luck. Finally, I reinstalled the previous version and all was back to normal.

Today a new upgrade install request popped up and with out thinking, I installed 38.2 and guess what! That damn asterisk is back and unless there is a way to turn it off I will now have to delete the 38.2 and go back to the older version once again.

Please, Please, Please tell me that you have installed a switch in the settings somewhere to turn the damn asterisk off. It is like a demon. Annoying and serves no useful purpose!

It servers a very useful purpose. It identifies the count is including emails from sub folders that are closed. Expand the folder and the asterisk will go away as it will now only show unread mail from that folder and not sub folders.
