Firefox crashes at every startup on windows 7 32 bit even in safe mode. I'm not able to get into firefox. Older firefox versions < 8 work fine.

System: HP EliteBook 8460p Win7 enterprise 32 bits

Thanks Knorretje. It turns out I had Passlogix V-GO.

Completely useless piece of software which I don't use, so I disabled it by following MikeBy's second reply here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/880042#answer-252425

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

I also can't get into the profile manager. Got this crash ID: bp-3b4e9fd0-db29-4969-8a1a-0e9852111014

Is there some debug version I can run? I'm a developer myself, so getting some debug out is not a problem.

Btw I have tried: -reinstall -disable fingerprint driver -safe mode

It seems I'm not even getting new crash reports. Here's a dump from the latest windows event log: Faulting application name: firefox.exe, version: 8.0.1.4341, time stamp: 0x4ec9a124 Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000400 Faulting process id: 0x20b0 Faulting application start time: 0x01ccb32f3578a94b Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe Faulting module path: unknown Report Id: 74668d43-1f22-11e1-b251-cc52af88e02f
