Can't Long Press and Save Images in Firefox?
Chrome android lets me save images on google by long pressing, and When I change to desktop View on firefox android it works, but in normal mobile view on firefox, I can not save images. It has nothing to do with google privacy rules, they allow you to save images, its just firefox not letting me.
Search anything on google images, long press the image, and nothing happens. There should be a pop up where you can save the image. But nothing happens.
I tried nightly and regular firefox. Why is this?

Anywhere on google images. Try going to google images and search something "car", click an image, and long press it.

I'm using FF version 84.1.2, and when I go to Google images, and long-press an image, I get a menu that includes "Save image". Is that what you are missing? It seems to work for me.

Weird, I disabled all my addons, and I also have 84.1.2, nothing happens when I long press an image.
Both my Galaxy S8 and A51, nothing happens. Different phones, updated browser, disabled addons. I dont get it.
That's so strange. Can I ask what Android version you're on? That's the only big difference I can think of between you & others on higher spec phones. Maybe that plays a part in why it's broken for you.
Also I'd like you to try our Firefox Beta & Firefox Nightly builds, just in case you are able to get different results in those apps: • https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox_beta&hl=en_US&gl=US • https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.fenix&hl=en_US&gl=US
Android 10 on the A51, Android 9 on the S8. I did try Nightly, beta and regular firefox. Same issue.
I did notice the save image function works when you long press a image from the GRID of results, but that gives you a tiny blurry resolution version of the image.
If you try tapping the image (so that it pops up, in full display), then long press, it does NOT work. Nothing happens. If that makes sense.
Are you able to tap an image from the results grid on google images, and then Long Press > Save? I can not do that.

I'm having the same problem as you actually! I can't long press the full display image at all, no menu of any kind appears. Specifically, the thumbnail image that becomes slightly larger from the Google Image grid results after tapping on it. But if I visit the site where the image is or open the image in its own new tab, I can long press both of those & it will allow me to save them.
I reproduced on a Samsung A71 with Android 10 using Firefox Beta 85.0.0-beta.4. So it looks like a bug on Google Images grid results. Can you reproduce this anywhere else?
It seems to be working for me everywhere else but I'll keep testing since I reproduced what you saw. I'll also see if anyone filed a similar bug about this. Good find! I'm not sure if you've checked in another browser yet but have you seen the same issue in any other browser too? I'm wondering if Google is doing something weird there so that it works the best in Chrome browsers vs others.

No, I can not do that either. I just did it from the grid directly.

Ah, thanks for confirming. So it is a universal thing. The problem with doing it from the grid, is its a tiny avatar size image.... versus the full resolution.
If you try it on Chrome, you can download the image from the full size display, either method.

Chrome browser on android lets you do it just fine. I thought it was more of a bug in firefox, or just an overlooked feature that the mozilla developers did not account for how images are saved or displayed on firefox, idk. But Ill have to try out other browsers later.
