Anyone who knows how to export email on MacBook Pro (older version 10.13.6 from 2011) from old email adress/ Thunderbird, which has shut down but where old emails are still stored to new email adress (gmail)? Anyone who can help, Thank You and Bless You! I am really stuck in this and I am afraid all old emails might get lost since the shutting down of the old email is progressing as we speak. It is at this point no longer possible to receive or send emails from the old adress but as mentioned, old emails are still in the computer. Once again, Thank You.

first use the relevant add on to export your mail from the account before it shuts down (this is very important for IMAP accounts.) https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools-ng/?src=ss This addon works for the current release of Thunderbird.

I do suggest you import them again using the same tool, but make the location in "Local Folders" this is stored on your local hard disk only. Even if at some point you copy them to the new account folders the initial import should be to local folders.

This will be a slow process probably and you might get script timeout errors. If you do click continue.

I would suggest exporting either as EML or MBOX files. MBOX will be faster, but individual EML files (emails) can be opened by double clicking even if they are not in Thunderbird.
