Sync not working on latest Firefox for Android
Hello. I use sync on two devices only, a PC and an android device. Today it has ceased to sync data to and from the android device. It just says "Last sync: never" even after clicking the sync button. The only thing I found online was to not have over 5000 bookmarks (which I don't) and to update Firefox. (I'm on the latest version)
So far I've tried clearing the data of the app, which didn't work so I tried reinstalling it entirely. That also didn't help. I've removed all duplicate devices from my account settings too.
Not sure what more I can do
EDIT:
Fixed itself of course only after I post here. I waited a few hours too..

Hi Frans
No problem, thank you for letting us know it has been fixed.
I'm having this issue too. Its been happening for 2 weeks. What did you do to fix it?
I have the same problem. It says the devices are connected, but nothing is syncing. I've tried forcing it on both ends multiple times, logging in and out, unsyncing and resyncing multiple times--all to no avail.
I use Samsung S10e, and I saw someone else had the same issue, but that they got it resolved. Not so, for me.
When I open the Account Settings page on my phone, at the top, under Sync now, it says "Never synced". When I then try to sync it says "Last synced: Dec 31, 1969" and nothing has changed. On my laptop it says it has synced--though it apparently hasn't--and on both devices I can choose what to sync.
This has been going on for at least a few days--probably more. I believe since the newest large update, which explains it, because updates always screw something up. Large or small, something always goes wrong. But THIS. This is unexcusable. I rely on the sync far more than I realized, before now, and if it continues to fail I may be forced to return to using Chrome, simply because syncing is so unavoidably vital to my usage of the internet.
80.0.1 on my laptop (the newest one) and 79.0.5 on my phone (also the newest.)
Agitated and anxious, Kitty
I found I had to enable sync in the device settings. Somehow this is tied in with the Android sync feature. I had it turn it on after a certain Android update. It seems to be working fine with 79.0.5 but login autofill is broken and I've gotten no clue as to when they intend to fix this. My frustration is off the scale. I would rather throw myself off a bridge than use the crappy on-screen keyboard on these Android devices. Mozilla needs to fix this and fix it fast.

This is exactly what's going on with my phone, except I have the S20+. This latest update have rendered firefox useless for me. If I can't use my bookmarks, then what's the point?
