A few days ago Adobe Flash (Shockwave) appears to no longer work on Firefox. Shockwave works fine on Chrome. Shockwave appears as a plugin for Firefox. I unchecked the "block websites" box, but this does not help. I have downloaded the latest version of Adobe Flash. I have specified both "always activate" and "ask to activate" but of no avail. I am at a loss as to what to try next, other than switch to Chrome.

Google Chrome uses it's own builtin custom software to play flash content, so it's not a good browser to use when testing flash related issues. Internet Explorer is much better for testing that.

I would recommend uninstalling Adobe Flash Player from your computer and then installing it again from the Adobe website.

Hope this helps.

Wesley, thanks for the suggestion. Actually the first thing I did was to go to the Adobe website and re-install Flash Player. I also just brought up Internet Explorer, and Flash Player works there. What I am basing my works/not-works conclusion on is my Arlo camera system. With Firefox the camera battery data does not show with Firefox, but does for Internet Explorer. In the past this has been due to Flash Player not functioning. I could have checked out Arlo help, although the fact that things work OK with Chrome and Internet Explorer leads me to believe it is a Firefox issue. But I will now go the Arlo route to see if they know of some other Arlo/Firefox problem. Thanks again for your guidance.

I would contact Arlo for support to see if they have any details on the issue. Let us know if you are able to resolve the issue that way.

Chrome uses Pepper or PPAPI version. IE uses the ActiveX version and Firefox use the NPAPI version of Flash Player Plugin from Adobe.

Chromium, Chrome, Opera dropped support of NPAPI Plugins back in Sept 2015.

If Firefox was still running when you install or update Flash Player (NPAPI) then you need to either restart Firefox or in the Location (address) bar type about:plugins with a : so Firefox will scan for the (NPAPI) Flash Plugin you have on system.
