Find lost e-mails after re-installing my computer
I had quite some computer problems lately. Because of that, I did a system recovery of a recovery point of 3 weeks ago. While doing that, my computer had some more issues and I had to reinstall my Windows system (Windows 10). After this exercise a lot op programs were gone, including Mozilla Thunderbird. I reinstalled Thunderbird, but I can't find my folder structure including my e-mails. Is there a way to get my e-mails back? Thanks in advance!

Why not?
Simply didn't do it, didn't think of it...
It doesn't. It's the responsibility of the user.
Locate the old profile underneath "C:\Windows.old". This article has more information about the Thunderbird profile location. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird
Then follow these instructions. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb#w_restoring-to-a-different-location </blockquote>
Done, and it is restored! You just made me extremely happy (my wife as well...).
Thanks a lot for your help!

Did you create a backup of your Thunderbird profile prior to re-installing Windows? Has a backup been created during the process? Is there a "C:\Windows.old" folder with personal data from a previously installed Windows version?
Christ1, thank you for your reply.
I didn't create a backup of my TB profile, at least not intentionally. I don't know if TB is doing this itself, but I didn't do this.
There is a Windows.old folder on the C drive. This indeed has the date of the re-installing procedure. Can I get my e-mails out of this folder? If yes, can you tell me how?
Thanks!
