Advertisments pop up, I get redirected to random websites, only on firefox browser, what's going on??
Recently my firefox browser has started opening ad videos, redirecting me to random websites and running slowly. It only happens with firefox, IE and chrome work fine, and I don't understand why. I've tried using malwarebyes, reinstalling firefox and disabling shockwave, none have worked. Also checked my extensions/addons everything there looks fine.
ps random words on random websites, before I get redirected, are somehow turned into links. for example a random sentence will have blue underlined words that are links that would not be there .
if tried to upload pictures but it wont let me
please help
thanks

I just tried to 'refresh' firefox and now it won't even open. It says: Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.
Tried reinstalling and I am still getting this error msg.

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?

Yes it's there, what do I do with the folder?
Ok I ran all the of the malware scanners but I still can't get firefox to open. I have the folder 'Old Firefox' on my desktop but I can't figure out what to do with it.
I refreshed firefox and hit cancel during the refresh bc I thought it froze. Now when I try to open firefox it says: Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.
What do I need to do with the folder? I can't figure it out from the links.
Open and read the links of my last post. This will tell you how to restore your profile.
