Why has my Password Box icon been removed from the toolbar and how do I put it back?
I've been using Password Box to manage my passwords. When I first installed it, an icon was installed on the toolbar. After a recent Firefox update, it has disappeared. I've downloaded the application for Firefox but have no idea how to get it to work. It is enabled and "on." Can't believe you hijacked my passwords.

Hi P_r3w3m3, PasswordBox unfortunately was not updated to work with Firefox 40 (its last update was in May). The extension used the old "widget" module to add its button to the tool bar and that module no longer exists in Firefox.
According to a user in another thread, McAfee said they are aware and working on an update, but no time frame was given.
If your online life cannot proceed without PasswordBox, you probably need to do one of the following for the time being:
(1) Use a different browser for sites where you need PasswordBox to log you in;
(2) Switch from using regular Firefox to using the Extended Support Release version of Firefox, which is designed for corporations but runs on all versions of Windows 8.1 (about ESR: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/); or
(3) Downgrade to Firefox 39.0.3, bearing in mind the security issues (Install an older version of Firefox).

Right click on the toolbar and see make sure the toolbar you want is check marked. Some functionality is removed by the developers of the add-on, you may also want to check with them to see if this has occurred.
Passwordbox was there; now it's gone. The only thing that happened was an update to Firefox. Why? I have downloaded the version specifically designed for Firefox. I have the toolbar I need and haven't changed toolbar settings in years. I tired again today to enable the add-on or get it to work with Firefox, but have had no luck. I successfully downloaded it for Chrome and will use that browser until this can be figured out. If I can't access my passwords, there is no point in using Firefox.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense.
