Got a reset on my laptop, and ofcouse all my bookmarks, passwords, add-ons etc. are gone. I still have them on my Android phone, but when I select 'Sync' it goes to the old version. When I click 'Sync' on my laptop, it wants me to register and al, the new sync I guess.

I want to import it al from my phone, and then upgrade to the new Sync. Thanks

Hi Joe,

The easiest way to do this would be to register for a new Sync account on your phone, and then add your laptop to the new Sync account.

EDIT: I should habe mentioned: this will copy all the saved passwords, history, bookmarks and tabs that are on your phone, but your desktop addons and preferences will be lost. If that's an issue, it is possible to connect your laptop to your old sync account and retrieve these instead of following the instructions below. Ask and I'll write some instructions.

To do this:

  1. Open your phone's settings menu and scroll down to accounts.
  2. Press Add account, choose Firefox and follow the steps to set up a new Firefox account
  3. Switch to your laptop, go to Sync and login with the new account you just created
  4. Once the Sync is complete and the details have copied over to your laptop, you can delete your old Sync account. Go to your phone's settings -> accounts, press Firefox Sync (deprecated). Press your old Sync username, the press the three-dots icon at the top-right -> Remove account

Hope that helps! Leave a post to let us know how you get along :)

I thought It wouldnt work, cause when I select Sync, it just let me show all those figures, like the old version. Then I saw "add a new account" so I think it's gonna work now. Thanks!
