I'm have just upgraded to the latest version of FireFox (version 33) and the browser loads and keeps saying "working" and nothing visual shows up. Only the basic Windows UI without any tabs, menus, etc. I also check the memory and it appears that the memory in task manager just keeps climbing and climbing. It appears some memory leak has caused this.

This is running on a 64 bit Windows 7 Pro box with 8. GB of RAM, and a 3.30 GHz i5-2500 CPU.

Any solution to this?

hello ccastigl, other users with this problem all had an embedded intel hd graphics card with an old driver present. in case this also applies to you, here would be a link to update the driver, which in turn should also address the black firefox problem: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23764 (for win7 64 bit)

in case this doesn't solve the issue or does not apply to your system, start firefox into safemode by pressing the shift key while the application is launching & disable hardware acceleration in the firefox menu ≡ > options > advanced > general (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

Thanks for the very quick reply.

Unfortunately this is a work computer and I am unsure whether I have admin access to updating drivers on my system..

I could disable the HW acceleration, but would this affect browser performance?
