How do I set Firefox home page to google.com?
Want Firefox setup on Android the way it is ony PC. I've been reading about Firefox on Android (4.4).
Is it TRUE that Firefox does not allow replacing its home screen? Is it TRUE that Google does not provide its Search Settings options when using Firefox Android? (for instance, when searching with Firefox, how can I limit results to those dated within the past 12 months, 1 month, etc.?)
-Phone manufacturers and service providers pre-install apps without option to remove them (NFL Mobile -- really?) - Google has pulled some features some of us considered essential; Search Settings and Text Reflow/Wrapping in late Android versions, to name only two, in order, they say, to "force" websites to update. - Mozilla has decided, and stated, that we don't need alternative home pages in Firefox because we can get to any results we could possible want solely through their home page solution.
How considerate of them all to be "solving" needs and problems we didn't know we had - while ignoring us when we complain about lost options and features.
How far are we willing to go in forfeiting control, flexibility, and options to suit our tastes and preferences and give it all over to the whims and collusive strategies of mobile service providers, phone manufacturers, and utilities like Google and Mozilla. Like the cable companies, they have all become too big to care. It will be interesting to see how much further they well be able to go.

I do feel your pain, but note that most here are volunteers and dont work for Mozilla.
No the homepage can't be changed, also note that apps being locked on your phone may be because of things that your mobile carrier (Verizon, AT&T) puts that on the phone.
