Hi Mercts-T,

Is this a toolbar, a pop-up, or possible has your homepage been changed? Having more information will help us to troubleshoot your issue.

I'd try starting Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide and the Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems article as well.

You could also try Creating a new profile.

If your home page has been changed, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article How to set the home page. Your homepage might have been changed by a particular site. Sites like MSN, Yahoo, etc have been know to ask to become your homepage.

There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.

If that doesn't work you should look at the article How to fix preferences that won't save.

Finally, your issue may be because you've been hit with some Malware.

Hopefully this helps!

If you can view the menu bar click on Tools ~> Add-ons If you have the menu bar hidden click on the Firefox drop down, and on the right side of the menu select Add-ons.

That will open the Add-ons Manager, on the left hand side there are tabs for

- Get Add-ons
- Extensions
- Appearance
- Plugins.

Click on the Extensions tab, and you will see it listed in there. Click on the button for remove, and then restart Firefox.

This worked for me, I hope this works for everyone else!

The suggestions made by TreyJT does not remove the Bucksbee plugin, it just disables it. Go into Control Panel then click on Add or Remove Programs. Find Buckbee Plugin on the list, click on it and when prompted click on uninstall. This is the only way to permanently remove any type of software from your computer!

Opening Add Or Remove Programs was one of the first things I tried, and there wasn't anything from bucksbee listed.

Additionally, Bucksbee did not show up as a plugin in my case, it showed up as an extension, they are not the same thing. If it does show up as a plugin, then you are correct in that it will only disable as that is the only option presented. Under the extensions tab however, there are multiple options, [ Options ] [ Disable ] [ Remove ]

I didn't say this would work for everyone, just what I did to remove it from my system, and I haven't seen any traces of it since.

I have this infection too. I was downloading some software and was given the choice of installing the BucksBee toolbar. I opted out. Still with no toolbar, my Firefox searches get redirected to Bucksbee. I refuse to live with this and will be using another browser.

Hi Mercts-T,

Below are the instructions on how to uninstall the BucksBee toolbar. You can also visit BucksBee’s uninstall page:

http://blog.bucksbee.com/uninstall-bucksbee/

Firefox

Click the Firefox browser menu at the top, left of the page Select "Add-ons" Make sure the "Extensions" tab on the left is selected In the list of add-ons, find the BucksBee Toolbar or BucksBee Loyalty Plugin To uninstall, click "Remove" To hide the tool, click "Disable" Restart Firefox

I’m sorry to hear that you want to uninstall. Also, just wanted to make sure for anyone who had questions, that there is no spyware or infection involved. BucksBee is simply a great opt-in shopping tool, that helps you save money shopping online, and rewards you for purchases you make. Its a great program if you shop online already. However, we understand some people may not want it on their browser, or may wish to remove it.

If you have five minutes, please fill out our Uninstall Survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/65WZKJF) to tell us how to improve. We strive to provide our users with the best shopping experience and are constantly enhancing our tools based on the input we receive.

I'm sorry Mr. Buzz the Bee, but I have to call you on this. I did click on remove it from the Extensions tab and restarted Firefox. I not only restarted Firefox, I restarted my computer. When I opened Firefox, Bucksbee was no longer listed in the Extensions tab but when I opened Netflix I got your damn popup (when I have popups turned off) offering me a free trial with Netflix (which I don't need as I already have an account and was trying to login when your popup interrupted me).

Now, tell me the truth, how do I get rid of your unneeded, unwanted, told not to install in the first place.

Hey glfandre,

Sorry about that. Sounds like you have the Loyalty Shopping Plugin installed. Here's how to uninstall for Firefox. At the top of your browser, click on the "Tools" tab, and click "Add-ons" from the drop-down menu. This will pull up a screen that shows all of your add-ons and the extensions will be on the left hand side as well. In the Add-ons and Extensions window, look for a file that starts with "fcreward" then click remove, or disable, then restart Firefox. You should be all set.
