When I try to copy text, Ctrl+c opens new blank Firefox tab instead... how can I fix this?

I would like to use Ctrl+C to copy text from web pages rather than open blank tabs.

Right-click > Copy still works to copy. Ctrl+T still works to open new tabs (with my selected homepage, as per the My Homepage plugin).

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank you for your reply. I restarted with the default theme and in safe mode as you suggested. Ctrl+c is now working correctly. Yea!

SafeMode is a diagnostic mode, not meant for regular usage.

Now you need to figure out which extension us causing that problem.

Following up... After I got out of Safe Mode, Ctrl+c worked properly, but Ctrl+v began opening new blank tabs!!

So, I disabled a bunch of extensions I wasn't using. Wish I could say which one was causing the problem, but I turned off several at once so I can't narrow it down.

Thank you for your help... now I can copy and paste in peace!

Oh no! I spoke too soon... it's still happening, with Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v. But only when I try to copy and paste in Gmail. Off to do more fiddling with add-ons...

Further testing reveals: the problem is NOT Integrated Gmail.

All my other add-ons are ones I've known and used for a while: Adblock Plus 1.3.9 Download Statusbar 0.9.8 Java Console 6.0.18, 6.0.21, 6.0.22, 6.0.24, 6.0.26 Java Quick Starter 1.0 LastPass 1.74.0 NoScript 2.1.2.1rc1 PDF Download 3.0.0.2

except My Homepage 1.0, which is new to me.

Turned My Homepage 1.0 off, and the Ctrl+c, Ctrl+v problem is gone.

Thank you again to everyone that helped. :)
