With Thunderbird update 115.5.2(64 bit) I cannot delete about one half of my unopened (unwanted) emails. When several new emails appear in my inbox I see several emails that I do not want to open. I right click on one I do not want and select 'Delete message' the message goes to Trash and the next email opens automatically. I want to open only emails I pick out not unwanted ones. Before the latest Thunderbird update I was to delete any email without any other email opening automatically. Can you help me? Thank you. [email protected]

Is there some purpose to not opening email, like some sort of religious objection to reading bout certain topics? Or is it just another example of a reluctance to open emails because of some incorrect assumptions about security.

Personally I click on the spam flame in the mail list for spam and the email just goes to the spam folder for automatic deletion based on my account settings.

I have all of my emails go to my inbox. In the past I have had some of my mail that is important and should not be spam end up in the Spam folder.

Everyone has false positives, that is why you check it over once a week or so and mark the good ones as not spam so the program learns to do better in future.
