I was just thinking : When you use the add-on that will sort bookmarks by title (in the Library), and then open the bookmarks in de sidebar (click on the bookmarks star and choose "View Bookmarks Sidebar" you will see all your bookmarks sorted the way you want to. The sidebar appears at the left side of your screen, but when you click on the little black arrow next to "Bookmarks", you can click "Move Sidebar to Right" ......
(faster way to open the Bookmarks Sidebar is to press Ctrl + B on your keyboard)

Great, now I've organized the bookmarks by pressing CTRL B. Thank you very much !!! Cees
My pleasure - well done !
You inadvertentely marked your own post as Chosen Solution; you can rectify it by clicking on the "Undo" button to the right of your post and then mark the post that solved the problem ("Solved the problem" button to the right of the post that provided the solution).
Thank you in advance !
Groetjes en alvast een prettig weekend toegewenst !
If one day you should decide not to use the bookmarks sidebar,
but go straight to the Library with a desktop shortcut; here it is :
Ctrl + Shift + B ......
Sorting bookmarks in the Bookmarks Manager (Library; Ctrl+Shift+B; Show All Bookmarks) shouldn't be a problem as long as you do not use the Views menu that is only for selecting a sorted view like the Views name suggests and is similar to click on the column header to sort by name or location or other columns you can make visible by right-clicking on the header bar. Easiest to do the sorting is via the right-click context menu in the left panel in the Library where all the folder are displayed. In the right panel in the Library sorting can be done if you right-click a folder name in this panel, but for the main (root) bookmarks folders like Bookmarks Menu and Bookmarks Toolbar folder the only option is via the left panel.
Remember that "Sort By Name" is only available in the right-click context menu of a folder name and not for an individual bookmark. This is true for all places where you see bookmark folder names (Library, Bookmarks sidebar, Bookmarks menu drop-down list).
Hi
Thanks for your explanation, but I was already behind that, my problem: first I.E. with vaforites ordered in the top right corner, then in windows 10 edge with favorites ordered in the top right corner (imported from I.E.) now firefox I could also use I.E. import favorites but what chaos, no more folders all mixed up. Now find out that I use my favorites in edge and keep only the most necessary in firefox. Thanks for your advice,
Kind regards,
Cees
To prevent issues with importing IE favorites, best is to export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import this file in Firefox. If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

In IE you can sort the favorites in IE and IE stores the result in the Windows Registry. Firefox imports the file structure as present on the hard drive and that causes your sorting to get lost.
Great, thanks this is exactly the info. that I need. Thank you very much !!

I wish you would have mentioned importing favorites (bookmarks in Firefox) earlier; I would have gladly given you all the info you need ....
Anything else you want to know and haven't mentioned before ?
Was my mistake, I was so mesmerized to get those bookmarks to the right and ordered, that I did not think about my 2nd problem with firefox, namely the chaos as I just indicated. I did not ask Mccoy at all, that's why she here had not paid attention to (she did very well, she thought along and came up with the right solution). Thank you both very much for your help. You are truly professionals !!!
Greetings,
Cees
Thank you for that very nice comment - if everybody was as
nice as you, this world would be a better place.
Have a great day !
Hi McCoy, Of course I know that, it was so stupid to even think about that
(hear it said that a man cannot handle 2 things at the same time, it turns out now !!)
