Thunderbird hangs regularly immediately after sending an email - Mac activity monitor says "not responding" (Mac)
Hello
In the last month Thunderbird started hanging regularly immediately after sending an email. The Mac's yosemite says it's "not responding" and it isn't.
I'm using it as an IMAP client, with a gmail server. Conveniently & interestingly, all email is being sent.
Outgoing server is smtp.gmail.com:465 with SSL/TLS and OAuth2.
Thoughts? Can I log TB activity to help debug?
Versions: TB: 52.2.1 (64-bit), up to date; OSX: 10.10.5 (14F2411)
Endret

Hello Cyril
I'm the other TB user whose TB hangs regularly. It's hung 5 times this month. My experience is that it hangs immediately after I send an email. Interestingly, the email is always delivered. I always find it in the sent log after restarting TB, and recipients often respond.
Since it hangs immediately after successfully sending an email, the bug probably isn't in the SMTP sending code. But it might be in some cleanup code that runs after the send, or in other code that occasionally runs immediately afterwards. Do you have the same problem?
Unfortunately this happens intermittently and I don't have the time to work on debugging it.

Hi Arthur, it happened to me many dozen times. TB indeed also freezes for me right after sending an email via SMTP but the email seems to go through successfully. As mentioned earlier I have the UX feeling it's also somehow related to clicking on a mailbox message quickly during (or right after) an outbound message is being sent... I keep sending the cores via Apple so I hope the TB team is getting them.
