Can send and receive e-mails, but cannot use emaildodo - any idea why not?
Have been using Thunderbird for two or three years without problem. A club I belong to used systemthink as an e-mail distribution process to pass messages around the club, but some members had problems with it keep deleting them from the distribution list, so the club recently changed to emaildodo. Now the problem is that I can receive from others via emaildodo but my e-mails to emaildodo just disappear. The other members don't see it, and I don't get any complaints that the email has been rejected by Thunderbird or by emaildodo

Looked at this link and found:
SPAM How can I make sure my Group does not receive any spam ? You can change the setting "Allow eMails from:" in the MEMBERS page to either {Everyone} or {Only Members}. The default value is {Everyone}. If you change the setting to {Only Members} no outsider will be able to send eMails to the Group. Be aware that you also can not send eMails to the Group from another eMail address ...
Thanks Toad Hall. If I send emails to this emaildodo account from my Thunderbird default address {[email protected]}, emaildodo doesn't see them. If I send email from webmail.plus.net (which uses a slightly different address {[email protected]}, emaildodo does get it and sends to other members. Notice the slight differences at each end of these addresses, and that PlusNet uses unusual addresses. If other members send to same emaildodo account, I get two emails, one using my default Thunderbird address, the other using my webmail address. That suggests to me that emaildodo is set up correctly for both, but I cannot contact our emaildodo administrator until next week to check
try entering your domain here https://www.spamhaus.org/lookup/ it might be that it is registered a sending spam and hence the mail is dropped.
Dropping your domain into dnsstuff.com can often show issues. Especially there custom domain names are used.
It also may be that the product will not accept mail purporting to be from a non delegated sub domain of plus.net.
Thanks Matt. Tried spamhaus - no problems. DnsStuff reported 2 fails - SOA and Abuse. To the untutored eye (mine) that doesn't look good. What does it mean in simple terms?
However, (1) I can send and receive emails to all other places from my 'postmaster@surname. plus.com' address, and apart from I cannot send emails to emaildodo, I can receive any that come from others via it; (2) I can successfully send emails to emaildodo from my 'webmail.plus.net' account which uses '[email protected]' as my 'From' address. I'm told emaildodo is set up to accept emails from either of my above addresses
Endret
Have found a solution - sort of. I am going to stop using postmaster as my default address, and use another which does get through emaildodo.
My thanks to all for your help. This is now closed
