Since Firefox updated to version 41 and 42, my Gmail freezes/locks up when I click on some videos and photos. I am able to view the same videos and photos when using Chrome so it has to be within Firefox. How do I stop this issue in Firefox?

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

https://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

I don't use Flash. I have a new HP desktop I7 Quad Core computer with up-to-date drivers. When I use Chrome and NOT Firefox, the videos play!!! I am not computer savvy so I need an easy fix and not a complicated one.
