Addon Compatibility?
Just a thought. I had a Complete Theme that I really liked called Silvermel. With the latest updates it is no longer compatible with Firefox. I went to Complete Themes in Firefox Addons to see if I could find something else I liked and found that 95% of them are not compatible. It isn't as bad with my other addons as with Complete Themes but I still loose the use of 1 or 2 addons when Firefox is updated.
Firefox is always talking about how customizable they are and then their advances render it less so. Improving things to the point where you are dis-improving them it is counterproductive. Would you ask the Firefox developers not the change the things that addons need to be usable? If they can't do that then they shouldn't update it. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback!
Firefox is built by users, for users. Feedback is very important to the development process.
The best place to leave feedback for Firefox is here: https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback/firefox
You can also get to that page anytime from within Firefox by clicking the Menu icon (the one with three lines, looks kind of like a hamburger), then click the question mark icon at the bottom of the drop down, then click "Submit Feedback..."
As for the broken add-on compatibility; updates do not usually break a lot of add-ons. But right now Firefox is going through some major changes with the way add-ons work. We've been working closely with add-on developers to make sure their add-ons are updated to be compatible with these changes.
Unfortunately some developers are lagging behind or have abandoned their add-ons altogether. You can read more about these changes in the Mozilla blog post titled The Future of Developing Firefox Add-ons
