I would like to know if I could fix the "Firefox not responding" issue by switching over to Google Chrome.

So this "firefox not responding "issue is really becoming quite frequent. (2-3 times a week) and I am doing a refresh about twice per week. Firefox was the absolute best now, I'm not so sure. Should I switch or is there a solution on the horizon?

Google Chrome may or may not work, at least initially, but that is not fixing the problem it is trying to avoid it. Like jumping on a pedal bike because after a puncture you don't know how to change the wheel on car.

Here has a solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2U7TRhfXzU

The solution above was for a very specific problem, probably nothing to do with your own issue, and it may not have been the best solution to the problem.

You certainly should not need to do a refresh very often. Maybe you have some form of malware and a Refresh helps but does nothing to solve the underlying cause.

What are you doing when you see this problem, and do you see any error messages ?

It really depends if you clear the cache of Firefox or not. Not cleaning the cache often will result that Firefox is "eating" more RAM and webpages that you haven't been are "loading" longer especially if the cache you set at Options \ Advanced \ Network \ Buffer is set at a low setting. If Firefox crashes often, than you need to found the solution within Firefox and not somewhere else in my opinion. Always check if you are using the latest version of all the addons and plugins that you are using. Firefox can crash if an addon crashes even though that shouldn't happen because addons and plugins are all within the plugincontainer.exe "program" but still if there is an not up to date addon or plugin and there is a memory leak, Firefox can still crash.
