This is baffling to me. As someone with years of experience in computer engineering I rarely have to reach out for help but I'm absolutely dumbfounded on this problem. As the question specifically states, certain searches on eBay result in a crash of Firefox (and Google Chrome) every single time without fail. I can search for something as ridiculously broad as "Dodge". No Problem. I can search for something even more broad as "Overhead". No Problem. But if I search for "Dodge Overhead" (as in, I'm looking for overhead consoles for Dodge vehicles). Firefox hangs and the app leaks memory like a sieve. It makes no sense. Firefox does it, Chrome does it, even Safari and Firefox on my Galaxy S5 do it. Even the eBay app hangs when searching "Dodge Overhead". What the hell?! I've cleared caches, I've deleted history, I've reinstalled Firefox, I CCleaned everything, I ran a MWB scan, I even tried my work laptop. What is with this specific search that crashes browsers?!

You said the problem is with Firefox, and other browsers? Then the issue is likely outside the browsers.

Check your protecting programs. Make sure they are working properly.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift (Mac Options) > key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

After, Start your Computer in safe mode. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites.
