It seems this isn't a problem exclusive to the Mozilla explorer on my (borrowed) computer, since using any of the browsers I can't seem to open various pages. I barely got to this page to ask the question because some 85% of the internet pages I want to enter just go on loading forever and then give out a "Problem loading page" notice. This happens with all the browsers in the same pattern. What's more, there is no consistency: it will load Facebook, but not Youtube; my faculty page can load but Wikipedia or Oxford Dictionary can't. (One curious and perhaps symptomatical example: if I enter Google's address imanually it will open, but not when I click the 'Home Page' button, which is the same (google.com). But this option doesn't work with other pages, too.) What should I do, since there seems to be a major problem with my Internet connection and my access to websites?

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Thank you for the info, but tragically neither of those websites will load on my computer. But I will try and download the programs on another computer and then install them via USB.
