I can't view anything in a "history" window (bookmark folders and browsing history), how do I fix this?
There are two problems: 1) Every time I click "show all history", a window called "Library" appears, where normally the history would appear, there is nothing there at all. However in History drop down bar under bookmarks where I can select "show all history", "clear recent history" etc. it still shows recent pages visited. Why is the Library window completely empty?
2) Normally when I save a bookmark, it brings up a window asking where I want to save it (folder) etc. This no longer happens when I bookmark a page. Instead, it just adds it to the Bookmarks drop down bar. When I try to view "show all bookmarks", the same "Library" window appears, completely empty. When I try to edit a bookmark by clicking on the star in the URL bar, it won't let me choose a bookmark folder to add it to, even when there are several that exist already.

I also can't delete bookmarks.
Can you attach one or two screen shots to show us what you mean? When you call up the history / bookmark / and other folders, they are all a part of the library. You can see the 'tree' on the left side of the display. The history has been set up so that you can look at only today, only last two days, and so on. There is also a search bar if you know what you are looking for.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
I downloaded the Places Maintenance 1.3 Add-On and ran it, and then restarted Firefox. I can now edit my bookmarks and see my history again, thanks for the help!
You're welcome
