everytime i press the shift key, the web development toolbox opens. i am unable to use upercase letter, special characters and anything else which requires the shift key. this is really annoying me...i can't even use an exclamation mark111111

Do you mean the toolbox that should open via Ctrl+Shift+K or open of the others of the toolbox that opens via Ctrl+F2?
Try to press the involved keys a few times, see the Web Developer menu for the shortcut keys.
Did you try to close and restart Firefox or reboot the computer?

Thank you. I feel like a dumb dumb...-_-! First rule of anything technical...restart. I've just never seen this problem. doing a restart fixed it. Thank you.
