Firefox doesn't have a certificate validator for its own add-on site! What should I do?

I haven't had this problem before. Perhaps it's because I just installed Firefox in Windows 8. I'm able to download an add-on as a file from Internet Explorer. I'm also typing this in Internet Explorer. In both cases, I had to do this because Firefox didn't trust its own service.

Hello Collin237, you mean https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/ page ?

the page has the Green padlock (A green padlock plus the name of the company or organization in green means that website is using an Extended Validation (EV) certificate. An EV certificate is a special type of site certificate that requires a significantly more rigorous identity verification process than other types of certificates)
