Every time I open Firefox 10 after upgrade I cannot get rid of What's new page i.e. I cannot open with a blank page. I am aware of the procedure for this but it does not work. \i also upgraded to Firefox 10 on my laptop (Vista Home Premium) with no problem - I set to open with blank page and hey presto that's what happens.

Thanks Vivek but unfortunately didn't seem to do any good. I ended up deleting the two files profiles.js and user.js (renamed them). Started firefox and got first run screen and a second tab with google search engine. Reset in General Tab to blank page and since then it starts up as required.

Open a blank page, then type this in the URL bar, "about:config" Now this brings up massive list of different configurations. Do only what Im telling here or you can mess up your browser. There is search bar on the top of the list, write there "mstone" and it should come up with only one configuration. Namely: browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone Right-click that config and choose "change". It will show a slot for an URL which will be the firefox what's new page's URL. Delete the link and press OK. Close the browser and start it up again and TA-DA! No more what's new update page. Hope I was of help either to you, or potential people viewing this page later looking for a solution ;) Cheers ~~Stidukka
