I am unable to log in to G-mail from Firefox 7.0.1 in Standard View. How can I get this rectified?
I am using Firefox 8. I have been using G-mail under earlier versions of Firefox (except 7.0.1) quite well. After updating to this version the G-mail log- in does not give me the benefit of Standard View ; but directs me to use the basic HTML view, under which many a features of normal G-mail are not available. Also I get the error message that my "browser is outdated and I should update it ". Version 8 being the current commercially released full Firefox version, I am unable to do anything to remedy this. Though I use Firefox extensively for all my other activities, I need to get G-mail for viewing You Tube videos and I am currently unable to do it from Firefox.
Please help me ASAP, since I have been unable to read many a mails from my contacts, when they refer to a You Tube videos.
Many thanks in advance.

@corel: Many thanks for your response.
I did all the steps suggested by you, viz. clearing the cache and removing all the cookies of all the Google products. Unfortunately, when I tried to log into my G-mail account, the original problem I had posted, just returned! ! So, I have not been able to successfully log on to G-mail from Mozilla Firefox 8, the current version I am using.
In the mean while, I found that logging in to G-mail from the Google Chrome browser works fine. But I am not happy with the Chrome, as it lacks many of the elegant features of Firefox. Further, from the HELP forum of G-mail, I found that they have updated G-mail to "G-Mail2" and now to "Better G-Mail2". But I was unable to get any information on how to create an account under either of those newer versions from Firefox.
So, I have to sadly report that your suggested solution did not work, nor was I able to log in to any of the newer versions.
Please HELP! Please HELP! Please HELP!

Hi,
Try accessing gmail via https://mail.google.com/mail/?labs=0. This disables any lab features enabled.
Did you mean https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/better-gmail-2/. It is not a separate account but an add-on for firefox that adds extra features to an existing gmail account when accessed through Firefox.
@Vivek.Wilfred: Thanks for your assistance to my query.
But, I deeply regret to say that neither of the two suggestions you have made worked. i) The first one, viz. accessing the site "https://mail.google.com/mail/?labs=0" to close the Google Labs does not give any response - the system simply hangs. ii) The second website referred to sets up an add on to the Firefox, but doesn't help in any way to mitigate the problem I had posted. I am simply directed to go for the "basic HTML view" once again, as before.
I even tried a combination of your suggestion and the earlier one by corel, with no positive result either.
Sorry to report such a negative reply for the suggestions given to help me; but that is the true result.
Will deeply appreciate additional helpful suggestions from you and / or other members of the forum.

Hi Arasan77,
Actually I was trying to say that Better Gmail 2 is an add-on, not an account.
You may also want to try accessing gmail after starting Firefox in Safe Mode.
