I would like to keep my brower history for 2 years. How do I do that?
I'd like my browser history to be retained for 2 years before clearing. That used to be a setting in Firefox but went away in 6.0. How can I retain my browser history for 2 or even 3 years?
Basically, for some of the work I do, it's extremely convenient to go to a webpage and know what links I've already been to. If I go to a link which is useless, I may even clear it from my browser history (depending on the site).
Please let me know how I can control how long Firefox can keep my browser history.
Thanks!! You folks are fantastic!

There is only a maximum to the number of pages that is kept in current Firefox versions and no time limit.
You can see that maximum as the value of the pref places.history.expiration.transient_max_pages on the about:config page.

I'm the original poster. If the history is kept forever, that's fine too. For my work I don't care. But I would like to keep it for at least 2 or even 3 years and need to know how I can do that.
Thanks!

Thank you. The link was fantastic and really explained it well.
In addition, I noticed the "FireFox freeze" comments on the main page. I seem to have that problem (the freeze frees up after about 9 seconds). I've found that moving my mouse seems to immediately free up the screen. I don't know if that helps at all, but I thought I'd mention it.
You're all doing terrific work!
