How do I delete bookmarks that I no longer want and how do I edit bookmark titles?
I have more than a dozen bookmarks for sites that I no longer use, but I am unable to delete them; right-clicking simply opens the unwanted site. Also, I am unable to change/shorten the name of a bookmark. I have installed the latest version of Firefox, but I'm getting so frustrated that I'm seriously considering changing to a different browser.

Thanks for the help with deleting bookmarks. It was easy to do when the star was blue; if it was "empty", which it was in several cases, even though the "Edit" screen came up, it would not allow me to delete. By going to the menu sidebar, I was able to get rid of the remainder.
I have tried, several times, to change the name of a couple of bookmarks, using the instructions in "how to I use bookmarks". When I put in the name I want, then click "done" it still comes up with the name it has assigned (ie "Welcome to Union Bank" as opposed to simply "Union Bank". Any other suggestions?
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
Thanks for the additional suggestions. We've still not been able to change the file name, so will learn to live with it.
Did you try to edit the names in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) ?
- Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks
I did try that, as well, with no change in the file name. I may have to uninstall Firefox, re-install it, and try re-creating all of my bookmarks.
You did try to delete the file(s) places.sqlite and other places files as listed in the KB article?
