I have to set the option of "NEVER REMEMBER HISTORY" every time Firefox is opened. Why?

in using tools/options, the option to 'NEVER REMEMBER HISTORY' is lost when I close the browser and returns to 'USE CUSTOM SETTINGS FOR HISTORY' ...

Only if all settings are the default then you will see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".

The "Use custom settings for history" setting reverts to "(Never) Remember history" if all History and Cookies settings are the default.

So if you get "Use custom settings for history" then at least one of the History / Cookie settings in not the default.

Your above posted system details show outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks that you should update.
