On startup, firefox thinks it is offline.
When I start Firefox, 9 times out of ten it thinks it is offline and does not load my homepage. When I click the home icon, it loads the page fine. Even if I don't load my homepage I can use bookmarks and it loads fine. I am running version 3.6.3 on an iMac with OS X 10.6.3 and 4 gig of memory, 2.66 Ghz Intel Core i5.

Make sure Firefox>Work Offline is not checked
Firefox>work offline is not checked. This is even though firefox is saying it is offline. Finally a virus for a Mac?
Try to create a new Boolean pref with the name network.manage-offline-status and set the value to false.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
Checked about:config and found the network.online line, but could not insert a new line in the list. How do I make the new line? I tried at the end of the list and at the network.online line, but no success at either.
Thanks.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
You can right-click on the about:config page to open the right-click context menu and use "New > Boolean" to create a new Boolean. Name: network.manage-offline-status Value: false
Ok. new parameter set. I'll check back if the problem disappears.
Thanks for the help!
