I have found the instructions to move all of Thunderbird to my new computer, but all I really want is the address book. (I am keeping the old computer in case I need older emails for some reason.) The entire Thunderbird folder is 3.77 GB!

Can anyone instruct me on how to move the address book only? I can find some small files that I think might be address book(s), but not sure what I'm looking at. There's abook.mab, abook-1.mab and abook (2).mab. There are also impab.mab 1, 2, 3, and 4 files. Help!

Thank you.

The abook.mab (Personal Address Book) and history.mab (Collected Addresses) files can be copied from the old profile to the new one, but the other mab files correspond to other address books in Address Book. For those, select it in Address Book, Tools/Export..., Save as type:LDIF. On the other computer, Tools/Import... Address books... Text files.... select the LDIF file.
