The first image is a screenshot I just took of chrome, this is what Firefox looked like for me just yesterday. Today it looks like the second image. It seems like this changed during a Firfox update.

Thanks for the reply. If anyone else is interested, it seems like google is testing a new layout and you can probably get back the old layout by clearing the google cookie. Follow McCoy's link for more detailed info.

Hey, deleting google's cookies didn't actually work for me so it's not exactly resolved.
