When I open my most visited tabs (Top Sites) with triple-click (open in new background tab), they started sorting incorrectly yesterday.

Let's say I'm in New Tab, and I triple-click 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Top Sites in that order. In the past, the order of tabs would be New Tab, 1, 2, 3. Since yesterday's update, the order is now New Tab, 1, 2 (as usual), but then 3rd Top Site opens up right behind New Tab, so the final arrangement is New Tab, 3, 1, 2. Why on earth could this be happening!?

You may have been lucky before or maybe you clicked faster or slower.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Ok, so disabling extensions makes it open in correct order. This makes no sense, because no extension should modify the place/order "open in new tab" opens a tab!
