Fonts have terrible kerning ruining legibility
On version 63.0 on Linux, some fonts have terrible kerning ruining legibility, especially in GMail. It might not look particularly illegible in the screenshot, but over a whole screen of email it is really disorienting.
I tried following some guides for fixing this from previous versions (changing hinting in OS for font-pixel alignment, change fonts in Firefox settings), and found old bug reports, but these did not work and the bug reports were closed as resolved: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1432544 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1435234
Any help would be appreciated!

Adding screenshot of an email title.
Seems to be most pronounced with Roboto fonts.

This sample page looks okay on Windows, so this may indeed be specific to Linux or your distribution:
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto
Or is that page (very simple styling) okay on yours, too?
Looks OK on my end -- at various sizes and with all styles.
May be some interaction with Firefox+Gmail+Linux similar to previously reported problems (specific to this combination).
Will wait to hear from gmail team or other users. Thanks for the help!
