Had to have my computer serviced when i got it back today my master password was not working. How do I resolve this? Preferably without losing all my saved passwords.

Did the servicing agency mess with your hdd/sdd at all? Does Thunderbird work properly otherwise?
What symptoms are making you think that it is not working, besides possibly having to re-enter for several mailboxes?
The tech Cleaned the junk output in a new up-to-date copy of windows and replaced my defective HD, Firefox had not been working for about a month before that happened. There is an insistence I use the master password even when I use the password straight out. It takes 3-4 tries to get the prompt to go away. I've used the same master for over a year, no problem, now I am told it is wrong. Still want to use a master password but can't change this one!
what files do you have in the profile folder?
Current Firefox releases use logins.json and key4.db for storing login data. The key4.db is the key file that stores the encryption key and the master password. Key3.db was used previously.
