Hi guys!

As my disk space getting full I started to look what takes so much resources and found Thunderbird files are more than 10gb. Next I read that I have to Archive the messages and copy it outside to decrease the amount of space it takes. Right?

So I did Archive but the issue is - now I have even less space than before! The Archive.sbd folders became much bigger (what I expected) but the Inbox and Sent files in the ImapMail folder have same size! So I guess something went wrong?

Please help

cheers Doktor

Well, the Archive feature won't move your messages "outside" Thunderbird. You'll need to export your messages to an alternative format if you want to remove them from your Thunderbird profile.

Archive is useful to move older messages that you don't need to look at so often out of your working folders, but still to hand where they can be searched.

I think that having Archived, you now need to compact the Inbox and Sent folders. When we delete messages in Thunderbird they are hidden but not actually removed.
