Can I restore bookmarks after getting a new hard drive and reinstalling Firefox?

more options

My hard drive failed and I had a new one installed. I didn't think to tell the computer repair folks to try to salvage my Firefox bookmarks, nor did I back them up in any way myself. Is there any chance that the bookmarks are saved or archived anywhere on Firefox and, if so, how can I access?

Normally, your bookmarks are stored ONLY locally on your hard drive.

Did they extract any data from under the

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

path? AppData is a hidden folder, so if you have a copy of that part of the old drive, set windows to show hidden files and folders in order to explore it: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files

Otherwise...

If you created a Firefox account and used the Sync service to share your bookmarks with another computer, then often you can join a new installation of Firefox to that account to pick up that data. But it sounds as though you might not have done that.
