Firefox 57 hangs on Mac despite refresh and 'prevent accessibility'
Since upgrading to Frefox 57 on Mac it constantly hangs. I have tried to 'refresh' firefox to create new profile and clicked on 'prevent accessibility' in Privacy and Security settings, but still hanging. Having found XMarks no longer compatible, I have also tried to install Eversync but it just hangs Firefox when trying to do the initial sync. It works, however on Chrome, which I now tempted to use as my default browser after years of faultless Firefox use. Firefox takes ages to load the default home page. I upgraded to High Sierra in case that helped but to no avail.

Try this https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings and test. If still issues try the below.
You could try this please : Go the Menu then Tools --> Options --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 0 = No Multi-proccesor = slow again. Hardware Acceleration might have also been a issue so turn it off. Run it later and see as you turn things back on and test it, and again. Restart Firefox after making these changes please.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Thanks for the reply. I have done as suggested and will see how it runs today. Unfortunately my problem seems to be two fold; the general hanging of Firefox, and the hanging when trying to Eversync or anything else tryng to get my bookmarks back. I am unable to import a html file with all my previous bookmarks without Firefox hangs again. I'm not sure if this is just due to the large amount of Bookmarks. Eversync has worked in Chrome, but hangs Firefox. Unless anyone knows of an equivalent Bookmark backup to XMarks thats compatible with Firefox 57? Thanks.
